Hand-made pendant with moon free dangling representing the cycle of the Jewish home, the Jewish month and the life-cycles of the Jewish woman. The Midrash tells us that God intended Rosh Hodesh to be a holiday and that as punishmnet for the sin of the "golden calf" it was taken away from the children of Israel. The woman, it is said, did not willingly participate in the sin of the "golden calf" and that therefore this day remains for them as a partial day of rest.
