Copyright c 1992 by Oded Davidson

Silver, engraved, cut, lattice, punched, carved, beaten, soldered.
The story of the prophet Jonah is the theme for this charity box. Jonah drowning among the waves, behind a 3 dimensional fish that opens to recieve the money, adorns the top of the box. On each of the three clouds behind the ship are the 3 Hebrew words
" Teshuvah " " Tzdakah " " Tefillah "
" repentance " " charity " " prayer "
Traditionally Jonah's prophecy is read at the afternoon prayers on Yom Kippur. Hence the connection to the words repentence charity and prayer that are considered the three neccessary "ingredients" to the absolvence of sin.
