Open Hands Hallah Platter
Copyright c 1996 by Oded Davidson

Silver, wood, engraved, cut,  soldered, beaten, pressed.
Two shades of exotic wood with silverbase sit on 8 small half-dome legs that are attached to the piece via 8 three-dimensial mini hallahs. Around the rim the hebrew wording from Psalms: 145 verses 15 & 16 forms an elegant border; "Enei kol elecha yisaberoo ve-ata noten lahem et achalum be-ito: poteuch et yadecha oo-masbiya le-kol hai ratzon:"
"the eyes of all look to towards Thee for sustanace and You provide for each one according to his time:
You open Your hands and satisfy all living their desire"
The centre piece lifts out using the two open hands   leaving a platter on which to serve the bread. The open hands is a traditional symbol of man's willingness to recieve from God.
